La Casona del Calderon Gastronomic and Boutique hotel is a magnificent house that has belonged to the same family for centuries. And that means character - a grand old house that epitomises the rich architectural legacy of the area. The current generation of family entrusted with the care of the house have added a warm welcome to its architectural soul. Many, if not most, of the pieces on view have been handed down the family over the years, including 17th century works of art, so you won’t find anything like this anywhere else. All 15 stylish and ample en-suite bedrooms are unique.
But so are the public areas such as the “Morenita” restaurant or bar. The places that don’t need furnishings as such the outer terrace, swimming pool and gardens are equally well looked after. Some of the ground floor rooms, for example, are intended for disabled persons or people with limited mobility and access to the street level is also catered for. It’s that sort of attention to detail combined with the warm and genuine welcome of the owners that make this Casona (literally large house) a special place to stay.
