We did the self-guided tour of Andalucía and had a perfect experience! My wife & I (visiting from US) needed a 7 day tour, mid-week in early December. Having Live Love Ride provide the bikes, routes, hotel arrangements and luggage shuttle was perfect. We’re capable cyclists, so this format was perfect for this “off-season” adventure. The region was exciting and festive…even in December! The 60-90 km days with respectable climbing gave us 5-6 hours on the road and plenty of time in the destination villages/cities to explore and enjoy. I have directed numerous large-scale tours in the US, and give Ricardo & Live Love Ride my highest recommendation! We will return for another tour (Portugal or Mallorca) and we’ll bring friends! Jeff S., USA Incredible bike tours in Spain This is our 2nd tour with LLR and we couldn’t be happier. Our first tour was in the Alentejo wine region of Portugal and our second was in Andalusia, Spain. Both rides were incredibly beautiful with outstanding food and lodging, but the Andalusia ride was the most beautiful ride we’ve ever done in our lives. Ricardo and Pedro are outstanding hosts and all details were taken care of. We did both rides as self-guided tours and never had any problems navigating our way each day. I can’t speak highly enough about LLR and we are already planning next year’s trip! Kristin M., Canada Couldn’t have asked for more My thanks to Pedro, Riccardo and Jonas for taking such good care of us on our recent week-long ride. Hotels were fantastic, food was unbelievable, riding was pitched just right in terms of length, difficulty and speed for our group ability. I thoroughly recommend… Mark, Thailand Read more reviews Cycling through Andalucia’s landscapes and white villages Cycling through Andalucia is a journey through one of Spain’s most diverse and captivating regions. One day you’re climbing into the dramatic limestone mountains of the Sierra de Grazalema; the next, you’re rolling through endless olive groves or arriving in a whitewashed village where life has changed little for generations. The famous Pueblos Blancos are among the highlights of any Andalucia bike tour. Villages such as Zahara de la Sierra, Grazalema and Arcos de la Frontera seem to cling impossibly to the hillsides, their narrow streets, flower-filled balconies and historic squares inviting you to stop, explore and experience the slower rhythm of southern Spain. Connecting these villages are quiet country roads that feel made for cycling. The scenery changes constantly, from cork forests and fertile valleys to vineyards and rugged mountain passes, creating rides that are as rewarding for the eyes as they are for the legs. Our Córdoba, White Villages & Ronda Bike Tour showcases the very best of inland Andalucía, taking you from the UNESCO World Heritage city of Córdoba through the Sierras Subbéticas and Sierra de Grazalema Natural Parks before reaching the spectacular town of Ronda. A land shaped by history, culture and wine Few places in Europe combine history, culture and gastronomy quite like Andalucia. Phoenicians, Romans and Moors all left their mark on the region, creating an extraordinary cultural heritage that continues to shape every town, village and landscape you ride through today. From the magnificent cities of Córdoba and Granada to the vineyards of the world-famous Jerez wine country, every day brings opportunities to discover another chapter of southern Spain’s rich history. Historic churches, medieval fortresses, lively plazas and traditional markets become natural stopping points along the journey rather than attractions hurriedly visited from a coach. The region’s cuisine is equally memorable. Long lunches on sunny terraces, locally produced olive oil, freshly prepared tapas and exceptional Sherry wines transform each evening into an experience that is every bit as rewarding as the day’s ride. For us, the best Andalucia bike tours aren’t simply about covering kilometres. They’re about creating meaningful connections with the places, people and traditions that make this region unlike anywhere else in Spain. Why Andalucia is one of Europe’s best cycling destinations With more than 300 days of sunshine each year, quiet rural roads and an extraordinary variety of landscapes, Andalucia offers some of the finest cycling conditions in Europe. Routes naturally suit a wide range of riders. Rolling countryside, steady mountain climbs and scenic valley roads provide enough variety to keep experienced cyclists engaged while remaining accessible to recreational riders and couples travelling together. For those looking for a little extra assistance, our premium e-bikes make even the longer climbs enjoyable, allowing everyone to ride comfortably at their own pace. Unlike many of Europe’s best-known cycling destinations, much of rural Andalucia remains refreshingly peaceful. It’s not unusual to ride for kilometres surrounded only by olive groves, vineyards and distant mountain peaks, sharing the road with little more than local traffic. This balance of spectacular scenery, excellent riding conditions and authentic cultural experiences is what makes cycling in Andalucia so memorable, whether you choose a guided journey or the freedom of a self-guided adventure. Why explore Andalucia with Live Love Ride We don’t believe the best bike tours are created by simply connecting famous landmarks on a map. Every itinerary begins with countless hours spent riding the region ourselves, searching for quieter roads, discovering exceptional boutique hotels and building relationships with the local people who make each journey special. Our Andalucia bike tours are designed to showcase the region beyond the obvious. Alongside iconic destinations, you’ll discover hidden villages, family-run wineries, authentic restaurants and scenic backroads that many visitors never experience. Combined with premium Specialized bikes, carefully selected accommodations, comprehensive route planning and our local expertise, the result is a cycling holiday that feels both seamless and deeply authentic. That’s what we’ve been creating across Spain since 2014, and it’s why so many of our guests return to explore another region with us. The best places to cycle in Andalucía From dramatic mountain scenery to historic cities and quiet rural roads, Andalucía offers an extraordinary variety of cycling experiences. These are some of the destinations that make southern Spain one of Europe’s finest regions for a bike tour. Córdoba A UNESCO World Heritage city and one of Spain’s greatest cultural treasures, Córdoba is the perfect place to begin an Andalucía bike tour. Wander through its historic centre, visit the magnificent Mosque Cathedral and discover centuries of Rom an, Islamic and Christian history before setting off into the peaceful countryside. Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park With quiet backroads, rolling olive groves and picturesque villages such as Zuheros and Iznájar, the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park offers some of Andalucía’s most enjoyable cycling. The combination of dramatic limestone landscapes and traditional rural life makes this one of the region’s hidden gems. Ronda and the Sierra de Grazalema Perched above the dramatic El Tajo Gorge, Ronda is one of Spain’s most iconic towns and an unforgettable base for exploring the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. Quiet mountain roads connect famous White Villages such as Grazalema, Zahara de la Sierra and Setenil de las Bodegas, creating some of the finest road cycling in southern Spain. Granada and the Sierra Nevada Granada combines one of Europe’s most celebrated historic cities with the spectacular scenery of the Sierra Nevada. Whether exploring the Alhambra or tackling challenging mountain climbs, it’s a destination that appeals to cyclists looking to combine culture with adventure. When is the best time to cycle in Andalucia? One of Andalucía’s greatest advantages is its exceptionally long cycling season. Thanks to its mild climate and more than 300 days of sunshine each year, riding is possible throughout much of the year. Spring, from March to May, brings colourful wildflowers, comfortable temperatures and ideal riding conditions, while September to November offers warm days, quieter roads and beautiful autumn light across the mountains and olive groves. Summer can become very hot, particularly inland, making early morning rides or higher-altitude routes the most comfortable choice. For many cyclists, however, Andalucía is at its very best during spring and autumn, when the weather, scenery and atmosphere combine to create exceptional cycling holidays.
